ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Relief + Development
Localizing our efforts is part of our holistic approach and movement towards sustainability.

Entrepreneurship and concentrated efforts to grow the local economy are part of our holistic approach towards long-term, sustainable change. Within our existing programs, education and healthcare both have a direct impact on the economy. Well educated students will grow up to be active and contributing members in their communities. Healthy people have the ability to go to work and produce economic survival for their families.

Domestically in the US, our new Women-led Business and Entrepreneurship program works to provide not just financial assistance but also come alongside women and support them with life, financial, business and other coaching and support services.

In Haiti, one example of entrepreneurial development is how the ECCA School directly employs over 37 staff, and the CMB Hospital employs over 250 local staff. Each person employed typically supports 7-10 friends and family, creating a large wave of empowerment from a small ripple of employment. Many local people are also employed through frequent building projects, construction and other project based employment.

Within our current projects, there is also an indirect support of the local economy. When parents have the financial burden of school tuition removed from their shoulders, they are freed up to invest in their local businesses and grow the economy. These jobs then provide employment for others, stabilizing community development.

In addition to this we are growing our social impact business; the Wisdomist Development Forum. Our mission is to connect big business leaders with social businesses around the world to pass along wisdom and insight surrounding successful business practices. By utilizing our network of dedicated staff throughout the world, we can globalize our efforts of solving social problems through business.

With your help, we hope to continue growing this piece of La Pointe Foundation to promote opportunities that empower local communities. When the foundational needs of individuals are met, people can tap into their potential and use their unique skills and abilities to become who they were meant to be.
